Tala Islieh

Tala Islieh, a passionate artist from Tulkarm, Palestine, is the visionary behind the "Kannaggi" project—a creative journey born out of her deep connection to Palestinian cultural heritage. While Tala holds a pharmacy degree, her heart led her to the world of art and craftsmanship, where she has found a profound way to preserve and celebrate her heritage.

The spark for Kannaggi ignited during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. It became an opportunity for Tala to explore her love for embroidery and handicrafts. Inspired to create something unique, she began designing modern pieces that blend traditional Palestinian embroidery with Arabic calligraphy, crafting designs that bring heritage into contemporary homes.

What began as a one-woman project has grown into a thriving team of 10 talented Palestinian women, whose dedication fuels Kannaggi’s success. Together, they support their families and communities, creating meaningful works that have reached 30 countries worldwide, including Canada.

For Tala, art is a form of resistance—a way to amplify the Palestinian cause and preserve its cultural legacy. Every piece created by Kannaggi proudly carries the essence of Palestine, reminding the world of its beauty and resilience.

As Tala says: "We are working hard so that you can get a piece that proudly says, 'Made in Palestine.' Keep Gaza in your prayers."
